Introduction to the Handheld Electric Drill

An electric hand drill is a handheld power tool powered by either AC mains electricity or a DC battery, designed for drilling holes in various materials.

It is the highest-selling product in the power tool industry and is widely used in sectors such as construction, renovation, and furniture manufacturing. In some industries, it is also referred to as an electric hammer.

The main components of an electric hand drill include the chuck, output shaft, gears, rotor, stator, housing, switch, and power cable.

Electric hand drills (often called "pistol-grip drills") are used to drill holes in materials such as metal, wood, and plastic. When equipped with a forward/reverse switch and electronic speed control, they can also function as electric screwdrivers. Some models feature rechargeable batteries, allowing them to operate for a period of time without an external power source.

Specialized model: Right-angle drill-designed for use in confined spaces (the drill head is positioned at a 90-degree angle to the body, reducing the required operating space).
